Chemical New Vision magazine recently conducted an exclusive interview with the General Manager of Lanzhou Juzhuo Fine Chemical Co., Ltd., offering an in-depth look at the company’s strategic expansion from Xi’an to Lanzhou and its future development plans.
Journalist: What factors led Juzhuo Fine Chemical to establish a new production base in Lanzhou New Area?
General Manager: Xi’an Juzhuo has been deeply involved in the fine chemical industry for more than a decade, accumulating mature technologies and strong market resources. However, due to limitations such as local land availability and energy costs, further expansion of production capacity had begun to face bottlenecks.
Lanzhou New Area offers abundant coal and electricity resources, and its logistics costs are about 20% lower than those in Xi’an. At the same time, the industrial park provides very favorable support policies, which help us accelerate the upgrade of our production capacity.
More importantly, Northwest China is a major production area for specialty plants such as mint and tobacco, allowing raw material procurement costs to be reduced by around 15%. For a raw-material-oriented enterprise like ours, this advantage is extremely important.
Journalist: What are Juzhuo Fine Chemical’s plans for technological research and development?
General Manager: We have established two R&D centers in Xi’an and Lanzhou. The Xi’an R&D center focuses on fundamental research and process optimization, while the Lanzhou R&D center concentrates on local raw material adaptation and the development of new products.
Over the next three years, we plan to invest RMB 20 million in the research and development of new-generation cooling agents and niacin derivatives. Our main goal is to overcome key challenges in efficient extraction of natural raw materials and green synthesis technologies, striving to achieve the commercial production of more than five new products by 2028.
Journalist: How does Juzhuo Fine Chemical ensure product quality and production safety?
General Manager: We have established a comprehensive quality control system covering the entire process, from raw material procurement to finished product delivery. All raw materials must pass strict testing, with a 100% qualification rate required before entering production. The production process is monitored through fully automated control systems, ensuring stability and consistency.
At the same time, we are equipped with industry-leading waste gas and wastewater treatment systems, ensuring that all emission indicators exceed national environmental standards.
